On the market there is a wide range of accessories for walking the dog, so choosing the best product is often a challenge for the owner.

Today I decided to take a closer look at leashes.

With almost five years of experience in the dog industry and the fact that I myself am a dog mom and used to have similar problems, I would like to help you choose the most suitable leash for you.

First of all, I would like to point out that there is no universal leash that is perfect for every activity with your dog, so it is good to equip your dog with several different types :)

1. A suitable length is crucial.

This is probably one of the most important rules to watch out for when shopping. Ask yourself, why?

A walk with the dog is pleasant for both parties if the leash is loose and forms a kind of "U" between the dog and the owner. Few people like it when the whole walk takes place on a tight leash, which is extended by the owner's hand stretched forward....

In our standard offer we have leashes from 1.2 to 1.6 meters long, but in order to meet the needs of many dog owners and give them as much freedom as possible, at DOG'S ATELIER you can have the length of the leash made according to your wishes.

2. Size of the carabiner suitable for the size of the dog.

We recommend you to choose the following leashes:

A) the MEDIUM dog leash, if your dog fits the XS collar.

These leashes are equipped with a small carabiner.

For all dogs <6kg.

B) the dog leash LARGE, if your dog fits the S,M , L-, XL collar.

These leashes are equipped with an even larger carabiner.

For all dogs 7<65kg.

-The width of our MEDIUM & LARGE dog leashes is 1.8 cm (0.8 inch).

- CITY leashes have a length of 1.50 m.

- Adjustable leashes have a length of 1.60 m.

3. City leash ( also our Fashion Vogue leash) or adjustable leash?

It's not easy to say which one is better from all, because each has their advantages.

FOR QUICK WALK WITH EYE-CATCHING EFFECT

A city leash is the simplest leash available on the market. On one side it has a snap hook to which you can attach your dog's harness or collar, and on the other side a handle to hold it.

It is perfect for dogs that have the possibility to run free, during fast walks in front of a block of flats, passing to the paddock or simply from point A to point B, for example in the city.

FOR FASHION AFFINE DOG OWNERS

Our Vogue leash is a slightly fancy interpretation of a city leash and a must-have for all fashion-savvy dog owners as well as fashion-conscious dogs. It is 1.2 meters long and has an interwoven with leather handle made of metal. An additional D-ring offers the possibility to attach a pouch bag or other accessory. It is best suited for smaller dogs up to max 15kg and perfect for a chic evening out or a city visit with a stop at the coffee shop.

THE MOST STYLISH ALL-ROUNDER ON THE MARKET!

The adjustable leash has no sewn-in standard handle and both sides end with a carabiner, is much more practical and universal, because it has the ability to change its length. The metal rings sewn in 2 places allow you to conveniently adjust the length to your current needs. When walking along the street, shorten the leash so that your dog stays close to you and does not have the opportunity to cross the street. In the park, on boulevards or by the lake, lengthen it as much as possible so that your dog can freely explore the area :). When visiting the restaurant, you can wrap the leash around the table leg without problems and enjoy your meal in peace while your dog remains safe and comfortable near you.

If you do not know what kind of character your dog has or how he lives, the safest thing to do is to choose an adjustable leash!

Why?

As I mentioned earlier, it is a much more practical option because thanks to the 2 carabiners as well as two additional D-rings, the owner can adjust the leash to his needs by changing the length.
